Reminiscence of the Past

Thou shalt be reminded that yours truly is not exactly a person who spends time dwelling in the past, to speak of. Pretty much lately, hit by nostalgia, i was moved to write about something that lived with me in the past and still has been living within me, at times. It's all in the brain, my memories. Till today, i've finally decided to fork out some effort and share. ^^

To those who have and yet have to know that i grew up not in Malaysia but a nice little country called Brunei Darussalam, i assert that it is the place where i had the most enjoyable time of my life.

You may guess i was still young then, and thus less apt to woes and is unrestricted to happiness and all the best of every wonderful things in the world. You were then, probably right. i'd still have to emphasize that, for once, nothing beats residing in this peaceful, wealthy piece of land. This place, will be kept forever in the heart, for how it had shaped the part of the person i am today. :D

Deviating back to the original topic, i'm going to show you the one of the beautiful things that rests, unchanged in my childhood memories. Something so beautiful i'll remember for forever, a majestic piece of art, the Musical Fountain at Brunei's Jerudong Park Garden.

i was merely 12 when i witnessed a large fountain soul bound to the pulse of songs and musics.

Kept in the centre of the Jerudong Park Garden, it sits quietly and onlooked by mesmerized onlookers during the night. Time stops when it began to "sing". So dazzlingly the moment it plays, you lose sense of attachment to the reality world.

Aweing, evoking of emotions and deeply captivating to every people, the accompanying sound system and quality of music blasted were nonetheless superb. Indeed romantic at that time (especially when ballads are played), even though little about love and girl-boy relationship was known to me.

Performance of the Musical Fountain was a total splendour, one that tells stories about mankind. Music and lights that are not only pleasing to ears and sights and touching to the soul, but the way it sung unravels the capability of people craftsmanship, architecture and noble creation; benevolence part of human nature that produce something which is good, and with the good intention - that good things are meant to be shared.

Such is reflected through the Brunei government's creation of the Jerudong Park for its people. It was a 1 billion dollar project and the park was opened in 1994. i believeth some of you may have already heard about a free concert performed by Michael Jackson in the Jerudong Park to celebrate the monarchy Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah's birthday.

i only realize that i was blessed to have had my time in such a remarkably expensive amusement park the day i boarded the Royal Brunei Airlines' and left Brunei at the end of 2000.

Below are video records i've found on YouTube. i assure you that the fountain shows are extremely vivid and much more prettier if you watch it live b/c you'll be sitting damn close to the actual fountain!

There are, however, as well as other musical fountain shows from all around the world. But i can't help thinking that Jerudong Park Garden's one of the bests.

For those to have an eye for detail, do check out the entire architecture of the park which is meticulously designed from every aspect and is highly aesthetic. Even much of the flooring is made using granites.

That's all for today. All from the deepest depths of my heart. :)

Something to rant about.

i don't know what's with Blogger but i couldn't upload more pictures, hmph!!! D: i really wanted to post more pictars!!! Got nice silver horses logo all over the park one leh. ><~! Haih...
